Cooped up conferences vs. free thinking in the country

'Summer in the city' is clearly a time not to host corporate conferences and events in the capital according to the UK's pre-eminent training centre, Wyboston Lakes.

As the summer temperatures rise, so too do carbon monoxide levels and some of the capital's venues are having to provide delegates with oxygen to get them through the day!

According to DEFRA, London's air pollution index levels are 5 (moderate) on an average summer's day compared to just 3 (low) at Wyboston Lakes Cambridgeshire / Bedfordshire base. Therefore training and events planners are being encouraged to leave the smoke behind and quite literally give their delegates room to breathe - fresh air to encourage their thought process.

With oxygen being offered to delegates who are cooped up in one Canary Wharf venue, sales and marketing director of Wyboston Lakes, Clive Bache, said: 'It is widely recognised that organisations have a duty of care to their employees. Clearly it is not good business practice to send them to a venue where they need oxygen to revive them after being cooped up. Our 350 acres of open spaces encourages free thinking and cares for the health and well-being of conference delegates".
